What does your car brand say about how long their drivetrains (aka transmission) should last? Do they ever talk about it? Not likely. But Tesla says their Model 3 drive unit was designed, built and tested to last 1 million miles and their battery packs should if taken care of last 300,000 to 500,000 miles. So when looking at the cost of a Model 3 factor in the total life of the vehicle and the gas savings over 8, 10 or perhaps even 15 years. The savings are significant.
